Who is TSB Brazil for?
For people who want to speak Brazilian Portuguese with confidence. Students who have started and stopped several times, people preparing to study, work or travel to Brazil, learners who have studied for years but still freeze when they need to speak, and those who have simply decided that learning Portuguese will be their next big project.
What variety of Portuguese do you teach?
Brazilian Portuguese, with Brazilian instructors.
Do I need to have previous experience with Portuguese?
Not for Private Lessons or the Semi-Intensive Program. Both start from the level you are at today.
The TSB Community is different. The sessions are fully in Portuguese, so we recommend joining once you can talk about your day and routine, tell simple stories about past experiences and talk about your plans for the future.
Can I take a trial lesson?
We do not offer trial lessons. We offer a quality guarantee instead: if it isn’t for you, ask for a full refund within one week of your purchase.
Programs
Questions about our Semi-Intensive Program and Private Lessons.
What is the Semi-Intensive Program?
A 26-week program in small groups of up to 4 students, with 10 hours of live instruction a week, 2 hours a day, with Brazilian instructors. All materials are included, classes are recorded, and there is 30 to 60 minutes of independent practice a day. The TSB Community is included during the 26 weeks.
How are Private Lessons different from the Semi-Intensive Program?
Private Lessons are one to one, 55 to 60 minutes each, and you choose how often you study. The Semi-Intensive Program is a group program with a fixed length of 26 weeks and a set weekly load.
How long do the programs last?
The Semi-Intensive Program lasts 26 weeks. Private Lessons have no fixed length: you choose as many packages as you need, and packages are valid for 24 months.
What materials are included?
TSB provides authentic materials to all our students, at different levels.
Will I have opportunities to practice speaking with other people?
Yes. The Semi-Intensive Program runs in small groups of up to 4 students. The TSB Community adds a weekly live conversation session, and it is included during the 26 weeks of the Semi-Intensive Program and with the 12 and 48 lesson packages.

Who can join the TSB Community?
Students who already have some Portuguese. The sessions are fully in Portuguese, so we recommend joining once you can talk about your day and routine, tell simple stories about past experiences and talk about your plans for the future.
You don’t need perfect Portuguese. You need enough Portuguese to participate.
What happens during the weekly conversation sessions?
A 60-minute live meeting, fully in Portuguese, in groups of up to 10 people, built around the cultural theme of the month.
What topics do you cover?
One cultural theme a month: music, history, food, literature and everyday life in Brazil. Instructors also support you with grammatical questions as they come.
When does the Community meet?
Tuesdays from 7:00 to 8:00 PM ET and Saturdays from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET. These are tentative schedules. If neither time works for you, join the waiting list and tell us your availability. When enough learners share another time preference, we can open an additional group.
Is the Community included in the Semi-Intensive Program or Private Lessons?
Yes. It is included during the 26 weeks of the Semi-Intensive Program, for 3 months with the 12-lesson package and for 1 year with the 48-lesson package.
How much does it cost and can I cancel anytime?
$57 a month, and you can cancel at any time. There is also an annual option at $613, which saves 10%.

How much do the programs cost?
Private Lessons: $75 for 1 lesson, $289 for 4, $841 for 12 and $3,214 for 48.
Semi-Intensive Program: $279 per week, for 26 weeks, or $7,230 paid in full.
TSB Community: $57 a month, or $613 a year.
What payment methods do you accept?
Checkout is secured by Stripe. You can pay by card, bank transfer, Klarna, or Affirm.
Do you offer a refund guarantee?
Yes. If it isn’t for you, ask for a full refund within one week of your purchase.
Logistics and Tech
Technical requirements and practical details.
Do I need any specific technology?
Lessons happen on Zoom. You need an internet connection, a device with a camera and a microphone, and a quiet place where you can speak out loud.
Can I join from any country?
Yes. We have taught students in more than 10 countries.
Will the lessons be recorded?
Yes. Recordings are available in both Private Lessons and the Semi-Intensive Program.
