Our Story
Hi, I’m Thalita.
I’m the founder of TSB Brazil. I created this school to share my passion for Brazilian Portuguese and to help people build real opportunities through language.
My journey has taken me from São Paulo to working with international students, to developing Portuguese courses for the U.S. military. Along the way, I saw how powerful language can be: not just as a skill, but as a bridge to people, cultures and new possibilities.
Today I work with students around the world, helping them learn Portuguese in a structured, human and meaningful way.
My journey
Each step has shaped the way I teach today.
- 1 Roots in Brazil I was born and raised in São Paulo.
- 2 Language Degree While studying a Language Degree at the University of São Paulo, I started teaching Portuguese to exchange students.
- 3 Intensive Language Training I worked with the U.S. military and developed a 26-week Portuguese course inspired by the principles of the Defense Language Institute.
- 4 MA/MBA at Johns Hopkins I am now obtaining a Masters with JHU, focused on Learning Experiences.

TSB Brazil was built around a simple belief:

Every learner comes with different goals, routines, interests, challenges, and ways of learning.
Here, we like to create opportunities to practice consistently, connect with other learners, engage with Brazilian Portuguese beyond the classroom, and turn what you learn into something you can actually use.
